The Razakar Atrocity Project

॥ श्री गुरुभ्यो नमः ॥

Dear friend, welcome to The Razakar Atrocity Project's website.

Our website is under construction. Please continue to check it regularly as it is augmented and developed.

We are committed to documenting and spreading awareness about historical (mid-twentieth century) Razakar atrocities in Hyderabad state (parts of the modern-day Indian states of Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra). Some of the projects we plan on working on include:

  • Doing research on Razakar atrocities using existing literature and intensive review of primary sources, resulting in the potential publication of original research-based publications/multimedia

  • Conducting oral histories using proper historical methods with witnesses to Razakar atrocities and/or their families to create a database of personal histories for future research and to preserve them for posterity. Conducting oral histories with direct witnesses/survivors of Razakar atrocities is extremely time-sensitive as the remaining survivors are very elderly (mostly in their 80s and 90s). We will be working on recording firsthand oral histories as our first priority. If you know of any survivors/witnesses, please contact us at the earliest so that we can connect with them and record their stories.

  • Hosting talks, presentations, and interviews with experts, and using traditional and social media-based mediums to increase awareness about Razakar atrocities

A one-stop shop for all our pages and social media can be found here.
